Journal entry 3/25/20 (Quarantine day 8)

Even under lockdown, it's vital we stay connected.

Even amidst isolation and uncertainty, there are so many tools at our disposal.

We believe in the power of self-expression.

2020 has been a humbling reminder of how much is beyond our control. But also a reminder to hold close to what's most important, a call to solidify ties based on common values, shared vision, and a commitment to building up a new world together.

Even when we are still, we must not remain silent. This year, especially, there is much to say, and even more to do. We must support each other more than ever.

Now is a time to heal our wounds, focus our energy, and gather our strength. It is a time to re-engage with friends old and new.

So please, stay compassionate, stay tuned, and spread the word.

the anchorman announces his infection on the nightly news

scuba-diver gear for all occasions

alcoholics saving everclear for the sanitizer

evangelizers blind to revelations

in a crisis

praying for a righteous few right hand advisors

There's no reason to wait until November 6th. By Halloween, a ton of people will already have voted.

Which gave us an idea:

We wanna see your costumes. And we wanna see what it looks like if you help get out the vote IN COSTUME.

- On Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, upload a photo of yourself as you get out the vote in costume 
- Use the hashtag #trickorvote and #flobots 
- We're  looking for the best and most creative costumes. 
- What does it mean to “get out the vote”? That‘s up to you. Anything from wearing an “I voted”sticker to standing in front of the polling place to dropping off your ballot to just encouraging all your friends to vote! 

Everyone can participate.

We'll be sharing our favorites until November 1st and reward our top 3 picks with a signed copy of #NOENEMIES and handwritten note from the band

Flobots announce their RISE + SHINE Tour - West Coast, which brings Flobots’ and Special Guest Bang Data to 22 western U.S. cities this fall.

The RISE + SHINE Tour is a call to action, set to remind us that the division and negativity that currently dominate the national conversation is not in the spirit of human nature – that our true potential is much more positive and welcoming. Flobots say, “The music on our album NOENEMIES is about our power to see each other more fully. We find that there’s nothing better for the soul than meeting people face to face. We cannot wait to hit the road!”

“Quarantine” Official Video Released!

Today, Denver Comic Con exclusively premiers the video for Flobots’ new single “Quarantine.” Flobots’ Emcee Brer Rabbit created the video using footage from the 1988 classic Anime film Akira. Brer Rabbit, a fan of Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo, discovered the movie as a teen from a bootleg VHS, which in his own words, changed his life forever. “The colors, the characters, the MUSIC, the message,” states Brer Rabbit, “Otomo painted a vision of the future in dark strokes, the constant clash for power, the eradication of information to control the narrative, how our monsters and heroes are homemade, and ultimately that children will be the ones who will have to pay the price.”  Seeing the parallel themes in Flobots’ song “Quarantine,” Brer Rabbit was inspired to “dust off my old Otaku chops and make an Anime music video.” He continues, “In times of division, vision is essential. We do not need to separate ourselves from one another. We need to set a perimeter around the parts of ourselves that deny other people's pain- to quarantine the part within that feeds on the ritual of ‘us versus them,’ of enemies. In the war against fear we are all on the same side.”
