Thank you to everyone who joined our inaugural #FlobotsFAM First Friday! We enjoyed the conversation with you and had fun giving away some Flobots goodies to five of our #FlobotsFAM
Perhaps it was a blessing that the weather gods obliterated the Flobots concert in early June at Levitt Pavilion.
When the new song “Roshni,” the first of the three to drop, came through one set of car speakers, everyone paused. “Is this really Flobots?” wondered one guy. “I guess...yeah...it’s new.”
As footage of the capitol riots circulated online, James Laurie, aka Jonny 5, watched with a unique kind of discomfort. A discomfort that stemmed from familiarity. Some of the rioters looked like they could have been at a Flobots concert circa 2008 — an era where the band’s merch was decorated with stars and stripes and their music was the soundtrack to protests against the Iraq war.
“When It All Falls” is officially available everywhere now! “We started this song during the George Floyd protests and finished it just after January 6th. In between, there was also, you know, an election, one that infused daily life with profound anxiety. We wanted to speak to all of that” -Jonny 5
New Flobots merch store launched on 5/28 with new Fight With Tools vinyl and limited edition gear!
Spend the 4th of July weekend with Flobots at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre with the funky The Burroughs and Wasteland Hop. The show is Saturday, July 3rd. Doors at 6 and show at 8 pm.
“Roshni” by Flobots is a dedication to the power of connections formed by people from vastly different life experiences and a reminder that the most important conspiracy today is still the one forged by unexpected neighbors working together to build a shared future.
